CRAMP HiVeg™ Agar Base is used for the cultivation of Yersinia species with plasmids. The congo red reaction is used for virulence test of Yersinia and to identify Plasmid bearing colonies, since pathogenicity is associated with the presence of plasmids. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
