Cellobiose Arginine Lysine HiVeg™ Broth (CAL HiVeg™ Broth) is recommended for isolation and biochemical characterization of Yersinia enterocolitica. This is a differential medium as it differentiates Yersinia on the basis of cellobiose fermentation and lysine or arginine decarboxylation. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
